ACI eHBL 204 – What is the difference in visibility between when an agent files and when a service provider files?

A third-party service provider is a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider that enables a freight forwarding company to create and send eHBL data, Close Message data, and notices. Whether an 8000 CCN is filed through the CBSA Portal or a third-party service provider, it has no effect on visibility. However, if an overseas agent files the eHBL 8000 CCN using its own 8000 code, the Canadian freight forwarder will not be able to see that 8000 CCN. The freight forwarder can only see its own 8000 CCN or an authorized one from an agent. Thus, visibility can be zero when an agent files using its 8000 code.
