For example, if 50 containers of apples were originally sold to a company in Japan but 30 containers were sold to a different company in China while en route to Japan, how can the export information be amended? This is the responsibility of the USPPI or its authorized agent to promptly file corrections or cancellations to the EEI as known at the time of filing in AES and transmitting any changes to that information as soon as they are known. For example, if it were found out later that one container was wrongly labeled for Japan instead of China, then there would need to be an updated EEI filed which would show only one container going to Japan. Filers will receive a compliance alert for a late shipment but the shipment should be accepted in AES.
