Japan AFR 07 – What is the meaning of AMR?

The Advance Cargo Information Registration (AMR) requires the submission of ocean (master) B/L information at least 24 hours before cargo loading. Shipping companies/carriers must file cargo information for each unit of ocean (master) B/L via AMR.

Any necessary corrections to the cargo information received via NACCS can be made through the Update Registered Advance Cargo Information (CMR), except for the B/L number, vessel code, voyage number, carrier code, port of loading code, and port of loading suffix. Once the Departure Time Registration has been executed, the information cannot be modified or deleted without advance notice from Japan Customs.

The AMR obligation applies to carriers (with joint operations requiring each carrier to report) and shipping agents.
