What is the U.S. In-Bond program?

The U.S. In-bond system streamlines the process for imported goods to enter a U.S. port without immediate duty payment. Bonded carriers then transport them to another U.S. port for further entry or export.

As part of this process, bonded highway carriers must electronically report both the arrival and export of shipments to CBP. This electronic reporting is mandatory, with reporting for in-bond export and arrival required within two days of the event.
