ACI eHBL 154 – For Flying Truck, we are aware that these are exempt, but will we still have to transfer it to our 8000 number and for customs clearance? If yes, will the Previous be the MAWB # or the truck bond #?

It depends on the management and handling specific to each shipment. For instance, if both the eHBL and Close Message are filed and the Air carrier submits its Primary while the warehouse “Arrives” / WACMs the MAWB, the D4 Deconsolidation Notice should flow like any other air shipment. In this case, the airline MAWB would be the Primary CCN. Alternatively, in the unlikely scenario that the Highway carrier submits its Highway Primary, the eHBLs could be associated with that Highway Primary CCN.

As of November 2020, freight forwarders are advised to handle Flying Truck shipments in the same manner as they did before the implementation of eHBL, i.e., through the use of paper, while concurrently seeking an eHBL solution.
