ACE In-Bond 13 – What does “shortening of in-transit time” mean?

It is possible that CBP will shorten the time that a shipment is in transit. This can happen if another agency requires it. For example, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) might need shipments to move faster if they are being sent on a USDA permit. Other government agencies might also require shorter transit times. When this happens, CBP will notify the carrier to let him or her know what has changed.
