The eHBL 8000 data and Close Message have already been filed based on the house airway bill data and contract of carriage, accounting for the total piece count. The freight forwarder is not required to make any changes to the eHBL data. However, if the freight forwarder decides to move the arrived cargo to its CW sufferance warehouse or if the importer wants to clear part of the shipment through customs, the eHBL must be amended to reflect the “first part”/arrived piece count. In this case, the customs broker must make an “Entered to Arrive” entry.
