Japan Customs will notify filers of risk analysis results within 24 hours after cargo information is filed. This allows shipping companies to receive advance notice and stop loading the cargo if necessary. Filers will only receive advance notice if the cargo is considered a security threat. Filers will be notified of “DNL” or “DNU” if the cargo is identified as high-risk or “HLD” if additional information or correction is required.
