The CSA (Customs Self Assessment) program streamlines the import process for pre-approved, low-risk importers, carriers, and drivers. To be eligible, shipments must be carried into Canada by a registered driver and be considered low-risk by both the importer and CBSA. This program expedites the clearance process for eligible shipments, resulting in cost savings and increased efficiency for businesses. Additionally, the CSA program allows CBSA to allocate their resources towards identifying and addressing high-risk shipments that could potentially harm the health, safety, or economy of Canadians.
