ACAS 19 – What is the Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) program?

The Air Cargo Advance Security Screening (ACAS) was designed to provide U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) with data about inbound air shipments prior to loading at a foreign port. ACAS enables CBP to identify high-risk shipments, speeding the movement of lower-risk shipments while resources can focus on higher-risk shipments for additional screening. Since its inception, CBP requires all carriers to submit this pre-arrival data before loading cargo onto aircraft destined for or transiting through the United States.
