ACI eHBL 034 – How will CBSA handle potential Force Majeure re-routings (i.e., ILWU/PMA strike/lockout)? If a marine carrier re-routes to Canada to discharge, will the vessel be allowed to discharge if filing 24-hours in advance was not possible?

For marine vessels and cargo that must make an unplanned stop at a Canadian port due to an unforeseen circumstance, such as a labor disruption in the U.S. or adverse weather conditions, advance commercial information (ACI) is required as soon as the need for an unscheduled diversion is known to the carrier.
