ACE Highway 71 – When should I use Goods Astray as Shipment Type?

Goods Astray is a U.S. Shipment Type and is a type of Informal Entry that allows for the release at the border of goods that:

  1. Were exported from the United States AND
  2. Are returning to the United States within 45 days of that export as undeliverable AND
  3. Have not at any time left the custody of the carrier or foreign customs service


CBP may request evidence to support the claim that the goods qualify for Goods Astray release upon request.
