The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is a US Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) electronic manifest program. It is the foundation for CBP’s trade processing and risk management assessment for cargo entering the country. Air carriers or their authorized agents are responsible for submitting pre-arrival cargo data to CBP. This includes air waybill (AWB) information for non-consolidated shipments, master air waybill data for consolidated shipments, and all associated house air waybills.
With ACE Air, the carrier and freight forwarder obtains notifications of, such as in-bond authorizations, general order, permit to proceed, and local transfer authorization upon flight departure or arrival from the last foreign port. Airway bill data can be transmitted in any sequence.
