The Advanced Commercial Information (ACI) serves as the CBSA’s electronic manifest program, streamlining the process for managing cargo data.
For highway carriers transporting goods into Canada, compliance with this system is mandatory. This entails electronically reporting cargo and conveyance data by filing an ACI eManifest. The documents must be received and validated by the CBSA at least one hour prior to arrival at the border.
File and submit ACI Highway eManifest via CrimsonLogic’s platform at least one hour prior to arrival at the border.
Any in-bond shipments must also be manifested in the truck’s eManifest submission.
CrimsonLogic or your customs broker will file a customs declaration.
Arrive at the border at least one hour after the eManifest is approved.
Present the ACI coversheet to retrieve the eManifest.

The Advance Commercial Information (ACI) program, implemented by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), is an eManifest initiative designed to equip Customs officers with electronic pre-arrival data. This system mandates electronic manifest submission at least one hour prior to border arrival, enhancing both the clearance process and border security.
The ACI Highway eManifest requirement mandates that highway carriers transmit electronic cargo and conveyance data to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) via the Advance Commercial Information (ACI) before their shipment arrives in Canada.
Under the ACI Highway eManifest regulations, highway carriers must ensure that both the eManifest and the entry by the customs broker (for PARS shipments) are on file with CBSA at least one hour before the driver arrives at the border.
Before submitting eManifests and other shipment data to CBSA, carriers must obtain a Carrier Code. After obtaining your Carrier Code, the next step is to register your business as an ACI (Advance Commercial Information) participant on the CBSA web portal. ACI registration is mandatory for carriers who are importing goods into Canada.

Once your eManifest has been accepted and processed by your designated customs broker, and subsequently certified by US CBP, you’ll receive an entry number. With this entry number, you’ll be authorized to cross the border seamlessly.
