The deconsolidation notice, currently only available through EDI, is an electronic notice sent from CBSA to inform clients of the transfer of cargo control and serves as electronic notification to the warehouse or terminal operator to allow the freight forwarder to take control of the goods and to the party liable for duties and taxes. The deconsolidation notice is currently optional but the CBSA encourages all parties to register to receive it for a smoother transition to the electronic transmission of house bills and reducing the paper burden.
