ACI Highway 041 – What is a Sublocation...

A Sublocation code is a designated identifier for a CBSA approved warehouse where specific cargo will be processed and authorized for delivery. This code is mandatory for In Bond shipments in Canada, as it informs CBSA about the location where the goods will be stored until they are cleared for release.

The Sublocation must be included in the ACI eManifest for all In Bond shipments. It is also recommended to include it for PARS shipments that may be moved in bond, so that no further changes need to be made at the border. Carriers can find the sublocation code by searching the warehouse name or code in GeTS’ WebCustoms portal, or by referring to CBSA’s list of approved sufferance warehouses.
