It generally takes 2-3 weeks (sometimes longer) to get a filer code with CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection). However, the process may take longer if there are any issues with the application or if additional information is required. It is best to apply for a filer code as early as possible to ensure that you have it in time for your importation. You can apply for a filer code through the CBP’s Automated Broker Interface (ABI) system. You will need to provide information about your business and your import activities, and you will also need to pay a fee to obtain the filer code.
