Type 3 – International Carrier Bonds is a classification of Customs bond that is used by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency to cover international carriers that are transporting goods to the United States. A Type 3 bond is intended to ensure that the international carrier has the financial resources to pay customs duties, taxes, and fees that are due on the imported goods and to compensate the U.S. government for any losses that may occur if the carrier fails to fulfill its obligations.
