To locate an agent to file your Importer Security Filing (ISF), you can search for service providers on the Sea AMS list or for software vendors with ISF capabilities on the ABI listing. If you are importing goods for your own use, you may want to consider hiring a customs broker, especially if you find the importing process complicated. These professionals are licensed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) but are not CBP employees. To find a customs broker in a specific port, visit the port’s webpage and look for a list of brokers. These lists may not be exhaustive and are subject to change, and CBP does not endorse the brokers listed. Keep in mind that even if you use a broker, you are still responsible for the accuracy of your entry documentation and any applicable duties, taxes, and fees.
