There is no specific process for designating a party to submit the ISF. However, ABI filers can work with their Client Representatives to set up an account and specify their preferred service center.
Filers need a filer identification code, such as a SCAC for ACE transmissions or an ABI filer code for ABI filings. If you don’t have a SCAC but need to participate in ACE, CBP will assign you a four-character identifier.
If an ISF agent is designated on behalf of multiple customers, there is no requirement to send separate notifications for each customer. The agent will typically handle the filing of the Importer Security Filing (ISF) on behalf of their clients as part of their services, and there is no need for the clients to take any additional action.
