Importer Security Filing (ISF), also known as “10+2,” is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that requires importers, carriers, and certain other parties to electronically submit certain information to CBP about cargo being imported into the United States at least 24 hours before the cargo is loaded onto a vessel for transport to the United States.
The ISF requirements apply to ocean shipments of cargo that are bound for the United States, with certain exceptions. The information that must be filed as part of an ISF includes details about the importer, the exporter, the manufacturer, the vessel and voyage, and the cargo itself.
