On April 1, 2019, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) began phasing out the Pre-Arrival Review System (PARS) and Release on Minimum Documentation (RMD) electronic release options for PGA-regulated goods. As a result, the CBSA and PGAs have reduced their service hours for these options. Once PARS and RMD are fully retired, using an Integrated Import Declaration (IID) to obtain electronic release will be mandatory. Failing to provide the necessary information or paperwork for shipments of PGA-regulated goods into Canada will prevent the entry filer from submitting an IID for the shipment.
