The E29B, also known as the Temporary Importation Bond, is a type of shipment used to bring goods into Canada temporarily. The responsibility of using this option and filling out the required form (Form E29B – Temporary Admission Permit) lies with the importer or their customs broker. Carriers, who are responsible for transporting the goods, should receive all necessary paperwork and the security deposit (if applicable) from the importer or customs broker. For more information on the E29B, carriers can refer to CBSA’s memorandum D8-1-4 and Customs Notice 09-006.
