An A49 Automotive Release is a shipment type designated for the clearance of goods through the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA). It permits the release of production and service automotive goods that are delivered via highway and destined for Chrysler Canada Ltd, Ford Motor Company of Canada Limited, or General Motors of Canada Limited. However, it should be noted that goods other than those used in production and service, such as office supplies, do not qualify for release under A49 even if they are intended for the aforementioned auto manufacturers.

The A49 release is mainly utilized as a substitute to the CSA Clearance Process, allowing carriers or drivers who are not approved under CSA/FAST to quickly transport automotive goods across the border.
